Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 September 2026
This policy describes how SOLTO Apps (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use SwiftScan on Android or iPhone, and when you visit this website at swiftscan.soltoapps.top. SwiftScan is designed so that camera frames, gallery images, scan history, generated codes, and Vault contents stay on the phone you control, unless you choose a feature that needs the network.
Who we are
SwiftScan is published by SOLTO Apps. Other SOLTO products may use other subdomains of soltoapps.top. This policy applies only to SwiftScan and this SwiftScan website, unless another SOLTO page says otherwise.
Questions: info@soltoapps.top.
What SwiftScan processes on the device
Scanning, creating, and storing codes is local work. The app may process:
- Live camera frames while the scanner is open, used only to detect QR codes and barcodes on that device
- Images you pick from the gallery or receive through the system share sheet, decoded locally
- Scan history: raw values, formats, parsed types, timestamps, notes, favorites, and collections you create
- QR codes you generate, including preview and export files you save or share
- Vault items, encrypted on the device and unlocked with the biometrics or device credential this phone already provides
- Settings such as haptics, scan sound, appearance, and privacy preferences stored in private app storage
Camera frames and gallery images are not uploaded to SOLTO Apps as a scan feed. History and Vault contents are not synced to us.
Network-optional features
Some features need the internet. They run only when you use them. Scanning, generating codes, history, and gallery decode work without a connection. Network-optional features include:
- URL reputation and expansion. When you use the URL safety shield, SwiftScan may expand a shortened link and check reputation with a security provider. A result such as “No known threats detected” is not a guarantee that the destination is safe.
- Page previews. For a web URL, the app may fetch a title, favicon, or Open Graph image after the scan result is already shown. Preview is asynchronous and does not delay scanning.
- Product lookup. For some UPC/EAN codes, SwiftScan may query Open Food Facts or a similar product provider for a name, brand, or nutrition facts. Lookup never blocks the scan. Missing products fail quietly.
Those requests send the URL or barcode needed for that feature — not your camera, not your gallery, and not your full history. If a provider is unavailable, SwiftScan falls back to local parsing.
What we do not collect
We do not operate a SwiftScan account, advertising network, or product analytics pixel in the app. We do not:
- Require you to sign in
- Upload scans or images as a feed
- Sell or rent personal data
- Build an advertising profile of the codes you scan
Permissions and why they exist
You grant each permission yourself. You can revoke them in system settings. Permissions are requested just in time, not at first launch for everything.
- Camera. Requested when you open the scanner. Used to detect QR codes and barcodes in the live preview. Frames stay on the device.
- Photos / files. Gallery scan uses the system photo picker. Exports use the Storage Access Framework (or the equivalent share sheet). SwiftScan does not ask for broad storage or full photo-library access to do this work.
- Contacts. Requested only when you choose to add a scanned vCard or MECARD to Contacts. The app does not read your address book to scan.
- Calendar. Requested only when you choose to add a scanned event. The app does not read your calendar to scan.
- Biometrics. Vault uses the platform biometric prompt (fingerprint, face, or device PIN). SwiftScan does not store fingerprint or face templates. The operating system verifies you.
This website
The site at swiftscan.soltoapps.top is a marketing and legal site. It does not set advertising cookies and does not run a third-party analytics or advertising pixel from SOLTO Apps.
When your browser loads a page, the host that serves the site may receive standard technical data as part of HTTPS: IP address, date and time, requested URL, referrer, and user agent. We do not use those logs to identify you, and we do not combine them with app data. The hosting provider may retain server logs for security and operations for a limited period according to its own practices.
If you email info@soltoapps.top, that message is stored in our inbox so we can reply. We keep correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request, unless a longer period is required by law.
Legal bases
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: (1) your consent for optional permissions such as camera, contacts, calendar, and biometrics; (2) performance of the product you asked to run, for on-device scanning, history, generation, and Vault; and (3) legitimate interests in operating a secure website and answering support email, balanced against your rights. Network-optional features run because you invoked them.
Retention
On-device data remains until you delete it in the app, clear app storage, or uninstall SwiftScan. Website server logs, if any, are not used to build a browsing profile. Support emails are retained as described above.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights or safety, or to a successor if SOLTO Apps transfers SwiftScan as a product — still without uploading your on-device history, because that history is not in our possession.
If you use a network-optional feature, the relevant provider (for example a reputation service or Open Food Facts) receives the URL or barcode needed for that lookup, under that provider’s own policy. Apple, Google, and the operating system process whatever they already process when you grant camera, contacts, calendar, or biometric permissions, or install from a store.
Children
SwiftScan is a personal utility. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact info@soltoapps.top and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can turn off network-optional features, delete history, empty the Vault, revoke permissions, or uninstall the app. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict personal data we hold — which for SwiftScan is typically limited to support email if you wrote to us. To exercise those rights, contact info@soltoapps.top. You may also complain to a supervisory authority in your country.
Security
Scans and media stay in the app sandbox. Vault items are encrypted on the device using platform keystore-backed encryption. No system is perfect. Keep the phone locked and the OS updated. Sideloaded builds signed with a temporary keystore are for testing only.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use of SwiftScan or this site after an update means you have had an opportunity to read the new policy.
