How to scan

Open the app on Scan. Allow camera access when asked — SwiftScan requests it when the scanner opens, not as a pile of permissions at first launch. Point at a QR code or barcode. Keep the code inside the frame; tap to focus if the lens hunts. Flash, zoom, and (where useful) camera switch are on the scanner itself.

When a code locks, you get a result for what it actually is: a site, a Wi-Fi network, a contact, an event, a product, or plain text. Open, copy, share, or save from there. The camera stays off the network; decoding happens on the device.

Gallery

Use Scan from Gallery and pick a screenshot or a saved photo with the system picker. You can also share an image into SwiftScan from Photos or Files. Images are decoded locally. SwiftScan does not need broad photo-library access for this.

Create QR

Open Create and choose a type — URL, text, Wi-Fi, contact, email, SMS, phone, location, or calendar. The preview updates as you type. Save or share when you are ready. If you customise colours or add a logo, pay attention to the readability hint; a low-contrast code may not scan.

History

History lists what you have scanned on this phone. Search, favorite, add a note, or export. Nothing here is uploaded as a feed. Delete a row, clear history in Settings, or uninstall the app to remove it.

Vault and biometrics

Move sensitive codes into Vault. Unlock with Fingerprint, Face ID / face authentication, or the device PIN — whatever this phone already uses. SwiftScan does not store your biometric templates. Vault contents are encrypted on the device and lock when you leave the app.

If biometrics fail, use the device credential fallback. If you forget the device lock, Vault items cannot be recovered by SOLTO Apps; they never left the phone.

Batch scan

Batch keeps the camera open and adds each unique code to a list. Pause, remove a row, or export CSV, JSON, or text when you are done. Exports are saved with the system file picker, not by taking over storage.

URL safety shield

For a web URL, the shield may expand a short link and check reputation. Treat “No known threats detected” as a snapshot, not a guarantee. If you are unsure, do not open the link. The shield needs the network; scanning still works without it.
